Mark Peters and Giles Corbin of the Jersey Tri Club and David Agnés are Kayaking from Rozel to France on 10 March, then cycling from their landing point in Normandy to Gibraltar some 2000km by cycle route to the south. The plan is to reach Gibraltar 2 weeks later which means racking up an average of around 140 km's a day. From there Mark and David will go on, cycle another 1000 odd km's going south into Morocco at which point Mark, having by then been gently warmed up, will start the Marathon Des Sables running daily marathons in the Sahara Desert for a week, carting around all his food and supplies in a rucksack between 2-9 April. We hope to return alive. If you would like to sponsor us please make cheques out to The Endeavour Charitable Trust. 11th March: The duathlon series continues this weekend with Sunday's race HQ at La Pulente, St. Ouen. The provisional course and distances will be a 5km run including the head-land, up Corbiere hill and long the Railway Walk back to transition. If that hasn't got the legs warmed up then the start of the 33km bike section, involving a trip along the 5 mile road and a steep climb up L'Etacq should do the trick! The rest of the bike includes one and half laps of the Bal Tab circuit and back down Hydrangea Ave to transition. The final run is a 3km out and back along the 5 mile road. I hope I haven't put anyone off! In fact as true multi-sporters we should be relishing the challenge...see you there!!!!!

5th March: It is a triathlete's habit to collect all kinds of gear, my wife is always threatening to sell part of the "collection". The junior section have some new members looking for a bike to borrow or maybe buy to get them started. Please get in contact with the committee if you have a bike to spare for a potential super-star.
3rd March: Some shocking news has just reached us. Nick Saunders, Jersey's professional Ironman, was involved in a serious car accident whilst on his way to a race in Cape Town, South Africa, early on Sunday morning. Nick escaped with bruising and lacerations but by all accounts is lucky to be alive after he narrowly avoided a head-on collision. Nick was on his way to race at the 11 Global OD race in Cape Town as a part of his preparation for IM South Africa on April 5th. We'll keep you updated as the news comes in. Our thoughts are with his fiancee, Alexa and family.

11th Feb: The 2nd Duathlon of the season takes place this Sunday morning at St. Catherines. Sign on is at 8am, briefing at 8.25am and starts at 8.30am. See you there.
